Wow it has been forever since I have posted, if anyone (besides Jeff cares)anyways I last posted 8 months ago before my wife gave birth. I am a proud Daddy to a beautifull lil girl. I have taken enough time off and I am back. With the most recent comic book movies playing on the big screen Hell Boy 2 and the Dark Knight, some sort of fire has been lit beneath my ass and I am really ready for work. I understand it is hard to have any kind of followers with out any kind of product, be patient with us it is coming I have seen what our artists are doing it will melt your faces!
Its good to be back
Peace 5000 kiddies
Chris
Well, it's been a couple of weeks comin', but really the wait between six and seven was nothing compared to the one between four and five.

In this episode, I was searching for a way to distinguish Chris from all the rebels, because, you know, all those humans look alike. It wasn't until after I had come up with both a solution and an explanation in the comic that I realized that I had written in a solution back in Zomb13z episode 2. The first idea I had was a little arrow pointing to Chris' head that said "Chris" right above it. Realizing that all I really had to do was not forget to draw the Spork saved enough room in panel 2 to squeeze in an extra joke.
I was a little disappointed in my naming of Capt. Squishy. I feel I could've been a lot more creative in giving him a really stupid, nonsensical name, but I can at least comfort myself in knowing that he'll probably die off in the attack. Also, I think the joke about him not being a captain could've been pulled off better if I'd given him a more descriptive given name or nickname.
All in all, I think this one really turned out fairly well.
I recently spotted this post on boingboing.net. It's quite an interesting video, I reccomend it.
The reason I bring it up is that it plays heavily into what we are doing here. The pirate's dilemma basically says that if you want to beat the pirates, you have to play their game. fighting them with the old system will only serve to alienate your customers and hurt your business.
These days, the pirate's game is to provide content to users without charging for it. But how can a company give away their product and not only survive, but thrive?
Our strategy is this: first, when we release our comics, they will be released under a creative commons license that will allow our customers to copy and share our work to their hearts content. The one thing that we ask is that if you download our comics, that you download from us here at reliantcomics.com.
That leads into the second part of our strategy; we will provide electronic versions of our work in addition to physical copies. if you an electronic version, we are leaving the decision of how much it costs to you, the customer. That's right, you can pay whatever you think that our work is worth, even $0.00! The physical copies are a slightly different story; you can still pay however much you want, but we will charge for shipping and production costs, regardless of what you want to pay beyond that.
There is a logic behind this (and believe me, this model was not a decision that was made lightly). The way we figure it, our customers don't want to feel like criminals, and we'd rather not have any reason to antagonize them. Also, we realize that it is the market that will determine whether our work has value, and if so, how much.
So we are leaving it in your hands. If you want us to keep making our comics, the best way to ensure that happens is to pay a fair price for our work. If you don't care either way, then please enjoy our creations, share them with others, and maybe we can convince you to support us.
Peace, y'all!

I think it's a testament to my ADD that I'm posting this 4 days later than the date I had intended my deadline to be. Oh, well. The point is that ep 6 is done.

"Tell you what Chris; you survive this, and next time you can be the hero the rebels are in need of."

When I fist started this comic, I had considered making myself the main character, but that seemed too egotistical. Anyway, I much preferred myself in the position of an expert on dispatching zombies.
The idea with the 'zilla was one I've had for a while, in fact, it was an idea I wanted to do in webcomic form before I came up with Zomb13z and before Reliant came into existence. I believe that if you ask my friends, they'll tell you that they would put very little past me, to the point that me riding a giant lizard through a post apocalyptic, zombie infested city wouldn't surprise them. And given the chance, I would do it in a heartbeat.
I think I'm gonna start experimenting with different layouts, both for my blog and for the comic itself. It just doesn't look good to have the image go outside the boundaries like that.
Most of my time is consumed by the work of the first issue, including concept sketches and profile illustrations. So I have not had the change to update a blog. Hoping to get some new stuff thrown up on the site and our MySpace page, we'll have that up asap...
Well, I meant to have episode 6 done by now, but as you can see, it's not up. Work has really kicked my ass this week. I'm gonna try to get the next Zomb13z out tomorrow.
Hey, I need to apologise to all you guys. I had a few complaints and saw for myself that the image quality was bad in my last post, not to mention that some of the original 4 Zomb13z comics were hard to read. I figured out what I did wrong, and fixed those posts, plus I made this page which has full quality images of all the comics.
I promise I'll be more on top of that from now on.
Wow, that was a long time coming, wasn't it? Sorry about that. My main reason for not posting this a long time ago was that there was no content management system on this site then, and I really wanted to get it up before I posted ep. 5.
Anyway, hooray, the wait is over!

I know I like to read the notes that webcomic creators write about their comics, so I guess I'll put in a few. These are just my rantings and observations, so feel free to skip reading all of them.
Hello, and welcome to ReliantComics.com. This is the official home of Reliant Comics, a new and exciting comic book company. This is where you will find news about our products, see the webcomic, "How to Survive When the Zomb13z Attack" (found in Jeff's blog here: http://www.reliantcomics.com/?q=blog/7 ; rss: http://www.reliantcomics.com/?q=blog/7/feed), and eventually we will have a store system and forums up for your viewing pleasure.
So have a look around, and be sure to visit often, because the site, our products, and the company will only get better from here!
Just so that there's a record on the site, I'm posting the old Zomb13z comics here. Also, all new Zomb13z comics will be posted on this blog.
Sorry for the unfortunate spacing. I'll work on that later. For now, the important thing is that the site is up and running.
From this point on in this post, it's just Zomb13z comics along with my original commentary.
